SHOR American Seafood Grill: A Culinary Jewel in Clearwater

Surprisingly Good. We did not want to stray far away from the hotel tonight. We decided to stay on site. So very glad we did. The food here is fabulous. I mean really great. You could order 3 or 4 sides and have a meal of wonderful side dishes.

We stopped by there on a cold day in February. The views are gorgeous and the seating is arranged with emphasis on privacy and space. The service was spectacular! We at the Citrus Beer Salad which was so good, we came back the next day to eat it again! It’s a generous portion! We also shared the asparagus which, leaves you begging for more even though you get a lot of it! We had the crab cakes which had a beautiful presentation. The crispy brussel sprouts are like crack cocaine! We cannot recommend this restaurant more!

We've eaten at Shor several times while staying at the Hyatt. It's always quiet, laid back, and the food is incredible. Service is terrific also. The New York Strip and Grouper bites are especially fantastic but we've never been disappointed with anything on their menu. Drink menu is great also! Highly recommend eating here if you're staying at the Hyatt or anywhere in Clearwater beach.

Have to concur with previous reviews that our experience at SHOR was a positive one. Ben was our waiter he gave suggestions plus didn’t rush us in anyway to make a quick decision on food. We enjoyed our wine and appetizer which was the calamari before our dinner order was placed. My husband had the fresh catch which was red snapper and Ben indicated it was a good size, didn’t disappoint. I had the blackened grouper sandwich tasty with a side of fries crispy. Atmosphere enjoyable and left satisfied.

This experience at the restaurant for Christmas Day was truly delightful . We had an outside table overlooking the ocean with a magnificent view . The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and the food was magnificent. Such an array of breakfast and brunch type items were offered. They offered crab legs that were cooked to perfection . They had everything from eggs crab Benedict to tenderloin beef and lamb. They offered sushi, made to order omelettes and an array of pasta and vegetables There was even a nice sushi selection available. For the most part the food was tasty and well prepared . There was a variety of meats and cheeses and fruits and a wonderful dessert table was offered . The only drawback on this is that the beef tenderloin was dry and too well done and the lamb was a bit on the dry side as well . They offered extremely large shrimp for shrimp cocktail, biscuits and gravy and the usual breakfast meets, bacon and sausage The service was very good and we were overall pleased with everything offered to us for the day of Christmas I would consider going back again for their holiday buffet as long as the meat's not overcooked .

Amazing food overall. The short rib pasta was the highlight—rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. I also loved their coconut by nature cocktail. An excellent experience from start to finish.

If you are staying at the Hyatt, this place is a no brainer. Great food and we had excellent service. We came back for another dinner where they cooked fish we caught on a charter that day…. Was awesome. Great place to have a drink and watch the sunset as well….

Not sure why this is averaging 4.3 stars. I have traveled extensively and eaten at many hotel restaurants. This is one of the better in terms if menu quality and service, and if the night is warm, you can also dine outside overlooking the water. I feel as though I am a fairly discerning diner, and always try to accurately set expectations for what and where I am eating, which is why I am rarely disappointed. This is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but few are (have dined at some). That said, this was a very enjoyable restaurant for the many meals I have eaten here.
